Recently, our Facebook Post
went viral. We are urging everyone to play Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of the Heart during the four minute, thirty second eclipse totality on April 8 from 3:20-3:25 EDT. Our goal is to bring her 1983 hit back to the number one spot for five minutes on every streaming platform.
But we know that the excitement leading up to the eclipse is just as important as the eclipse itself. So, here’s a list of what we will be playing in the two hours leading up to the Great American Total Solar Eclipse on April 8. Remembering of course to END with Total Eclipse of the Heart. Feel free to load up your playlist with the songs below.
So grab a lawn chair, don your eclipse glasses, enjoy some chocolate mini sunglasses, and connect your blue tooth speaker.
Our rules:
- The title of the song must have some reference to the sun, the moon, an eclipse, blinding light, or other sun related “buzz words” like solar or ultraviolet.
- Just mentioning those words in the body of the song is not enough.
- Being bright or dark is too vague and therefore excluded from this list.
- If we don’t personally enjoy listening to the song, it didn’t make the list.
